After 50 years of marriage, Klaus and Regina live their honeymoon dream of a Mediterranean Cruise from October 28th - November 8, 2010! Cities visited include: Barcelona, Monaco, Florence, Pisa, The Vatican, Rome, Naples. Pompei, Sorento, and Palma de Mallorca. Regina’s sister, Thea, came along, thanks to her family. And though they couldn’t participate in the cruise, Marita, Heinz and Franz Selbemann found their way across the snowy Alps to meet them in Monaco, much to their surprise! All-in-all, travels went smoothly and there were many smiles, much laughter and plenty of wonder throughout the trip! Enjoy the pictures and videos.
Klaus and Regina celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on the weekend of July 31st. On Saturday we had a catered picnic and on Sunday there was a mass and then a dinner/dance. The celebration was held at the Alpine Resort in Terra Alta, West Virginia, not far from their Western Maryland Home.

Chessie - Our New Purebred Chesapeake Bay Retriever

We have a new child, kind of. 'Chessie' (Francesca) joined our family on Monday, January 18th, 2010. She's a purebred AKC Registered Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She currently weighs 20 lbs and is 13 weeks old (born 10/22/09). She will grow to be 60 to 80 lbs.
We bought her from Chesaloosa breeders in MaryDel, MD on the eastern shore. She is very intelligent and highly trainable. We've had her for less than a week and she is already kennel trained and responds to the commands: Come, Sit, Stay, Down, Hurry Up (25% of the time). She sleeps through the night without whining. We are truly lucky that she has such a pleasant demeanor.
Here's a video of Jenny and Chessie playing together:
Jenny sang a brief solo in the County Honors Chorus Winter Concert along with her classmates Tanya Malykh, Daniela Hernandez, and Kevin Grossi. The Peace Song was directed by Paul Heinemann the Choral director at her school.
